Euroopan Ratsastajainliitto EEF on julkaissut tänään hevosten hyvinvointia koskevan kyselyn yhteistyössä World Horse Welfaren kanssa. Kyselyn pääpainopisteenä on kerätä tietoa kotioloissa käytettävistä valmennusmenetelmistä. Viime aikoina ilmi tulleet tapahtumat ovat nostaneet pinnalle kotioloissa tapahtuvaan hevosten käsittelyyn ja valmentautumiseen liittyviä väärinkäytöksiä. 

Kyselyn tavoitteena on luoda lajiliitoille ja jäsenistölle käytäntöjä hevosten epäeettisen kohtelun torjumiseksi. 

Kyselyyn vastaaminen tapahtuu anonyymisti ja vie aikaa noin 10 minuuttia. Kyselyyn voi vastata englanniksi, espanjaksi, ranskaksi tai italiaksi.

Today we launched a survey on at-home horse welfare, with the support of World Horse Welfare, with a specific focus on training methods.

Recent high-profile cases have created intense focus on training methods and the handling of horses at home. To properly counter these issues going forward, it is important we first assess the current landscape, the attitudes and opinions within the industry and understand whether these issues are widespread. With this information, we can then support you, our member federations to create practical initiatives to counter these unacceptable behaviours.

The answers will be analysed and carried forward to a panel discussion in cooperation with a range of stakeholders to properly discuss and consider how we as Europe’s equestrian community can stamp out abusive training practices and any notion that they can be acceptable in today’s sport. This is vital to strengthen trust with those both inside and outside our sport.
